TORONTO - (May 18, 2023) This morning Ana Bailão announced she will be improving splash pads and playgrounds for children and families across Toronto. 

As Toronto grows, Ana Bailão is committed to making life better for kids and families. Play spaces like splash pads and playgrounds play an important role in growth and development for children of all backgrounds and abilities. 

As Mayor, Ana would accelerate improvements and construction for splash pads, sport fields and playgrounds across Toronto - with at least one in every ward in Toronto. Ana knows that kids and families can’t wait, which is why she will make sure these upgrades are moved to the front of the line. 

Speaking to the importance of splash pads and playgrounds in Toronto, Ana said “As we build more affordable homes, we need to make sure we’re bringing services to residents in their communities. Playgrounds and splash pads have, for too long, been an afterthought. They are critical infrastructure for young people to thrive, and I want to make sure kids and families have adequate play structures in every corner of our city - whether they’re in Scarborough, North York, Etobicoke, or right downtown.”
